A separate, personal email helps elected representatives understand the issues that matter most to residents.
Your email to councillors does not replace your consultation response. Once you have submitted through Central Bedfordshire Council, tell councillors that you have done so and explain the issues you want them to consider.

Subject: Local Plan Consultation – Site 136785 (West of Linslade)
Dear Councillor [Name],
I am writing as a resident of [road or area] regarding Central Bedfordshire Council’s Submitted Sites Consultation and Site 136785, west of Linslade, to ask for your support in opposing its inclusion as a potential site for development.
I have already submitted my response through the official consultation. I also wanted to write to you directly as my elected representative so that you are aware of the issues that concern me.
I recognise that Central Bedfordshire needs to plan for additional homes. My concern is not whether new housing should be built, but whether Site 136785 is an appropriate location.
My main concerns are:
I would be grateful if you could raise these concerns at any relevant council meetings, oppose the inclusion of this site, and represent the views of local residents throughout the Local Plan process.
I would also appreciate it if you could confirm your position on this matter, explain the reasons for it, and let me know what steps you intend to take in response to residents’ concerns.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my views. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,

Residents who wish to raise the wider issue of infrastructure and economic growth could add:
“With the once-in-a-generation investment in employment, transport and infrastructure associated with Universal, how do you believe the Local Plan should align future housing growth with areas where major infrastructure investment and employment opportunities are being created?”
This is optional and should not replace the site-specific reasons for your view.
