Phone photographs are absolutely fine. The most useful contributions clearly show what you observed, where and when.
Complete the official consultation too. Contributing evidence to this project does not replace submitting your formal response to Central Bedfordshire Council.

Walking & dog walking
Paths, gates, regular routes and observations about how frequently the area is used.
Wildlife
Deer, butterflies, pollinators, birds, bats and other sightings recorded without disturbance.
Trees & hedgerows
Mature trees, connected field margins and features that may provide habitat or landscape value.
Traffic
Queues, pinch points, the railway bridge and other congestion observations with dates and times.
Flooding
Standing water, flooded roads, drainage routes and conditions after heavy rain.
Make each contribution useful

Record where
Give a road, footpath, field edge or recognisable nearby feature. Avoid publishing precise locations of sensitive wildlife sites.

Record when
Include the date and approximate time. For repeated observations, say how often you have seen or experienced it.

Explain relevance
Say whether it relates to recreation, wildlife, landscape, congestion, flooding, heritage or another planning issue.
Wildlife photography
- Photograph butterflies and pollinators where you find them naturally.
- Observe bats from a respectful distance without flash or additional lighting.
- Do not approach or disturb roosts, nests, setts or young animals.
- Record uncertain species as “unidentified” rather than guessing.
Permissions and privacy
Please say whether your material may be used on the public website or in a resident report.
Avoid identifiable photographs of people unless you have their permission. Names and personal details will not be published without consent.
